What is a Floating MetalPrint Display?
The nature of MetalPrints is that they are beautifully simple, showcasing a modern elemental style. Starting with a .045" thick sheet of aluminum, their minimalist design spotlights the thin, exposed edge when floated from the wall. Our default Float Mount Hanger and aluminum Inset Frame are two popular ways to create this floating effect. Another approach to the "float" would be to elevate your MetalPrint with a Float Frame, which becomes an apparently beautiful part of the final piece. Scroll on to see just how easy it is to install these three floating MetalPrint displays.
Float Mount Hanger
Our Float Mount Hanger is the default hanging option for MetalPrints, and for good reason! Attached to the back of the print, it's lightweight and floats the print 1/2" off the wall when hung. A sawtooth hanger makes it quick and easy to mount your MetalPrint with no need for a frame. Float Mount Hangers are available on MetalPrints from 4x4" to 24x36".
Inset Frame
Aluminum Inset Frames are a great alternative to our Float Mount Hangers. Inset Frames are recessed from the edges of the print, so the print appears to float away from the wall when hung. Inset Frames come in your choice of 3/4" or 1-1/4" depth, and a French Cleat or Wire Hanger. While 3/4" Insets are silver, 1-1/4" Insets are offered in silver or black. Available for sizes 8x8" to 48x96".
An additional Security T-Screw is available for Inset Frames with French Cleat, which provides extra safeguarding for your MetalPrint. Acting as a special key, the T-Screw locks your Inset Frame to the wall - perfect for commercial displays in public locations like hospitals, restaurants, galleries, and more.
Float Frame
Float Frames are a popular choice for photographers wanting a center-of-attention impact for their MetalPrint displays. Acting as a trusty upsell, this museum-quality upgrade creates a floating effect for the print within the frame. Float Frames are available in 14 stylish mouldings including Wedge and Slim profiles, and are hung with a sawtooth (for small sizes) or wire hanger.
